The Cyprus Refugee Council (CyRC)is holding a discussion on“Asylum in Cyprus: Opportunities and Challenges”, on Wednesday, May 23rd 2018, 09:00 – 13:00, at the EU House(Lordou Vyronos 30, Nicosia 1080).
The event, which will be held in Greek, will officially introduce the newly established non-Governmental organization, Cyprus Refugee Council, and will be addressed by the Commissioner for Administration and Human Rights Mrs. Maria Stylianou- Lottidi, and Olga Komiti on behalf of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees Office in Cyprus. It will also gather various stakeholders to give an overview on the current state of affairs in regards to asylum in Cyprus, addressing both challenges and opportunities, followed by a panel discussionfacilitated by Mr. Nikos Trimikliniotis. The discussion will be led by representatives of the Asylum Service, the Social Welfare Services, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees Office in Cyprus , the Migrant Information Centre (MiHub) and CyRC.
