On Saturday March 13, Alexis Sofocleous will continue his “Step by Step around Cyprus Helping” campaign with a 20 kilometre walk from Kokkinotrymithia village to the OXI roundabout in the center of Nicosia. The purpose of his walk, which will begin at the gates of the Pournara Camp of First Reception at 9am and end at 1pm at the OXI roundabout in the busy and diverse neighbourhood that has become home to many newcomers to Cyprus, is to highlight the need for solidarity and mutual understanding between people, especially in the face of the COVID19 pandemic.
Everyone is welcome to join Alexis on his “Walk for Understanding” (Pournara to Eleftheria Stadium to European University Cyprus to Griva Digheni Avenue to Demosthenis Severis Street to Eleftheria Square to OXI roundabout) at any point and for any distance!
All measures will be taken to conform with the measures to contain the spread of COVID19.
The event is co-organised by Caritas Cyprus, Cyprus Refugee Council, and Dignity Center.
